Fortron 450W versus Corsair 450W

So I missed out on the $40 AR Corsair 450W earlier this week. Now I am trying to decide whether I still want it since I am over budget by about $20.

I am thinking about a Fortron because I have always been partial to it, and only recently heard the hype about Corsair.

My expected build is:
AMD Phenom II X3 720 BE
Biostar 790GX
4Gb Gskill memory
1 HD
1 bluray drive
(possible 1 DVD drive)
1 Radeon 4850

Silverstone LC13B-E HTPC case

I am interested in one of these:

So, I guess I need to ask these questions:

Does the PSU provide enough power for my machine?
Does the PSU have all of the connectors I require (6-pin for high end PCIe, two 6-pin, four 6-pin or even the newer 8-pin PCIe connector)?
Will both of these PSUs fit okay in this HTPC case
Is the gray color of the fortron psu really going to stick out with a black case

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Would love to wrap this up asap

hop over to Fs/FT, see what you can find there? I know i've seen at least one good corsair FS there. 😉

The 4850 was actually cheaper than any 4770 by quite a bit. Newegg has a great deal right now on the Sapphire 4850. So its hard to pass up the 4850.

I assume that the CX400 would not be enough for the 4850?? There is a 20% off promo right now on the 'egg

This seems like a really good deal. What do you think? I am tempted to go a little overbudget because its 550W and because of strong reviews.

Anyone know how long the PSU cable is?
Will this matchup okay with my mobo? Does the PSU have all of the connectors I require (6-pin for high end PCIe, two 6-pin, four 6-pin or even the newer 8-pin PCIe connector)?

Don't know about the case. The power supply is around 6.4" deep.

It has one 6 pin and one 8 pin (6+2) PCIe connectors.

It should work just fine with your motherboard.

Cable lengths are near the bottom of this page.

The Corsair 400cx will work just fine with the 4850 and it's a good value. Current best price is $53.24 shipped at Buy.com, from what I've seen so far.
