How does this card compare to the TBSC? I have the TBSC and was under the impression it's one of the best cards out there. Just wondering if I should consider upgrading to one of these Hercules cards. I know it's 5.1 vs. 7.1, but can someone give me more feedback. Thanx.

See 3dsoundsurge.com forums. TBSC is probably going to be retired pretty soon and I think TB is getting out of the sound card business. TBSC sensaura is an older version and little dated and it has some problems in games, although it has excellent audio quality. I wouldn't upgrade right now unless the gaming surround is a problem. Might not see many new drivers though from TB.

But this is a nice decent card. My brother has it, sounds better than VIA onboard 🙂 I just bought some z540's on clearance and needed something better than my mobo's sound. It was between this, TBSC and the Philips Sonic Edge (c-media with some tricks). I got the sonic edge cause it's a c-media and is autodetected by almost all Linux distros during install (I hate ALSA, I'm a n00b).

TBSC is better IMO
