Barr threatened to outright fire Berman unless he stepped down and take another position. Berman set it up not to quit until his competent AUSA took over his job.
Geoffrey Berman, the former top federal prosecutor in Manhattan, was expected to say in closed-door testimony today that Attorney General Bill Barr repeatedly urged him to take another job, warned him that getting fired would not be good for his resume or job prospects and steered him toward a high-level Justice Department post in DC.

Been wondering when the Bar association was going to comment on Barr's corruption of the DOJ. Hope he ends up Clintoned.

Just another organization to add to the "deep state" list. You'll find plenty of people in that orbit that have benefited from Soros' contributions. It won't be hard to rationalize for those who want to.

What I have learned in the Trump era is that the power of institutions to influence public opinion has been vested in the desire of corrupt actors to maintain public faith in those institutions.
