My observation, not the newspaper's, is that It is extremely unusual for these people to come out and publicly oppose the government.

I think this is illustrative of the fact that bashing people does not work well -- unless you can more or less exterminate them, like we did in the U.S. I feel sorry for Israel, they have to deal with their own religios fanatics and the religious fanatics who are neighbors. That is a tough row to hoe.

Yes everyone knows that the Palestinians are bent on wiping Israel off the face of the map, their leadership has no interest in serious negotiations, and every legitimate move towards peace is answered by more terrorism.

The current situation where heavy military pressure on the Palestinians and increased security measures that stop most, but not all attacks is preferable to anything these whining cowards say.

I think Four former Shin Bet chiefs, who most no doubt are still highly connected, are a very credible source for criticism in this situation.

Your opinion however, ingnorantly calling them "whining cowards" is a waste of bandwidth at best.

tnitsuj, where are you from? I don't think you'd have the guts to tell a former Shin Bet commander to his face that he's a "whinning coward". Not to mention he'd probably beat your @ss into the dirt.

The Israeli internal security services are tough mofos, but this doesn't mean they shouldn't be honest about their appraisal of a situation.
