In this particular case, the CEO took over long after it had been run into the ground.

Yeah, I was going to say as much. I've worked with a bunch of ex-Nortel employees from their first infamous round of layoffs back in, what was it, 2001? They've been in a death spiral ever since and it's only been a deliberate pretense that the company might rebound that's kept them afloat since.
Mr. Zafirovski was hired in 2005 and embarked on a five year plan to save the company which apparently didn't go so well, though they were making progress on increasing revenue in the end days. Point is, all the company's woes can't be laid at the feet of someone who's only been there for four years.
I support his right to enter a contract, and if he's unhappy with the results of that contract execution to take it to court. Don't you?Originally posted by: dmcowen674

So do you support the guy getting $12 million? Like Obama for the Peace Prize, for what?

Dave's just jealous that when he ran his bar into the ground, no one gave him a million dollar severance package.

This is insane. This CEO nearly ran the company into the ground and he expects compensation? He's no different from union scum that drive companies to the ground with unreasonable salaries, then expect their generous pensions and health care benefits to continue long after the company goes bankrupt.

Envious of someone getting $12 million for doing nothing?

First, let me say, I despise CEOs getting big payouts for driving companies in the ground.
Second, let me add, you're an idiot and have no clue what this guy did or did not do. You jump on Slew Foot for not knowing the details of your bar going under, and then you do the exact same thing he did. If he was brought in when the ship was already sinking, he may have done quite a bit to try to get things back on course. How about blaming the board for giving him this contract in the first place? The good ole' boys network is the issue.
Believe me, if you were in the same situation, signed a contract, and were canned or whatever, you would be here with page after page of moans, whines, etc. And heck, someone should give me $12 million, because I'm sure I can run a company into the ground like these guys can.![]()

BULLSHIT
I have contracts supposedly worth millions and they turned out to be not worth the ink on the paper.
