I believe you're right. I also think it's a flaw in our justice system that we'll never know why they dismissed the matter. After the dismissal (and I believe there will be one, or as Buddy Holly wrote, "Just fade away."), the whole matter will be up for "lying and denying" unless the dismissal is conditioned on a "Shut the F up" order.
