What makes you think the mom wouldn't have pressed the eject button once she found out that she was pregnant?

because she didnt have enough money for abortion, that's why they went on a robbing spree

This reminds me of A History of Violence. These robbers picked the wrong guy. Still, I feel bad for him - justified or not (and this clearly was IMO), it can't be a good feeling to have stabbed a pregnant teenager to death. This will stay with him for a long time.

I guess I don't see why the hospital released the information that she was two weeks pregnant. Presumably even she probably didn't know she was, after such a short period.

I don't see why, pregnant or not, she was a stupid teenager.

why are people feeling sorry for that girl? :disgust: She knew she was pregnant, she knew her friends were robbing people while armed with a shotgun and she must have been chasing him after he ran...she got exactly what she deserved...

after that last sentence, I hate her even more since her stupidity and selfishness cost the life of her unborn baby...the baby is the one who we should be truly sorry for...

actually i doubt she knew she was pregnant. she was only 2 weeks pregnant so it is very possible she did not even know.

Yeah, but the to-be kid died, and really, he didn't have a choice. Her actions dragged him/her along for the "ride." Sure he/she probably would've been an equivelent fvck-up like his mom, but still, an innocent life gone.

I was never here. There is no box. I repeat, THERE IS NO BOX.

#1 Reason why you guys shouldn't feel sorry for the girl. She got banged up at 17, and went mugging at that, she had it coming.

Marine did what he had to... It just depresses me that the woman was pregnant.

Why does it depress you? The gene pool was prevented from being polluted even more with trash. Go Marine!

I didn't want to be the one that said it, simply because of what it would start.... but I agree with SithSolo1.

You always hear the jokes about Maries kicking ass without as much as a pocket knife or bare hands. booyah...er no that's not it...

that marine had so much luck on his side.

not often does a gun misfire, and if it hadnt, the story would have been different.

Looks like she found herself one hell of a BOGO deal then.

Kudos to the Marine!

In a sense it is a shame that the unborn child was a victim of the mother's blatant stupidity and one should not prejudge the unborn child based upon the actions of the mother. Having said that, I feel that the Marine was beyond 100% justified in his actions and it's a shame that the other attackers survived.

Just to stir the pot, I wonder if this guy would get prosecuted if he did the same thing in another city that has a different sort of attitude; e.g. how there are stories about criminals in NYC suing a home-owner because they got injured when breaking and entering the home.

even if she didn't know she was pregnant, she still should not have been robbing someone at gunpoint, and then chase after him when he took of running...

as evidenced by the other posters in this thread...good riddance...

wow...no one has posted that she didn't deserve to die no matter what crime she committed?!?! I am sure she would have learned her lesson after going to jail/probation and then become a productive member of society....we also need new laws for knife control to prevent these senseless murders...

If this was posted in P&N I am sure you would get that sort of response. 😉

What I don't understand is why the surving would-be robbers aren't also being charged with murder and attempted murder?

These bastages should be locked away for life.
