I'm not sure what the point of your response is. I associate myself with the Libertarian party, but because there's no true representation on the ballot, does that mean I should just "give it up" and align myself with the left (the unpredictable dumb) or the right (the predictable dumb)?

Not at all. I think you should support and vote for whoever you believe is best for this country. If the person that you think is best for the job is not on the ballot then write that person in. I may not support who you choose but I will fight until the day I die for your right to choose that person and as a Libertarian I know you can greatly appreciate that more than most.

My point is that words like "best", "better", "worse", "right", "wrong", "fair", "progressive", etc are important and have meaning, but the bottom line is that each and every one of them is also 100% subjective. That is why we utilize a system of representation even though I most certainly recognize that there are flaws within our system. It is not terrible though. It does work well enough though. The people have every bit of freedom to choose who they wish to represent them as the President of the United States. If we really wanted a Libertarian President then we would vote for a Libertarian president.

The LP complains that they are not represented enough. They claim that people just don't know what they really want and that there are better options that truly represent them. Perhaps that is true. Perhaps it is not. Perhaps enough people simply don't care? I don't claim that their party is without a disadvantage. They are thanks to the media. However, it is not like the media is preventing the distribution of information about the LP and its pros and cons. I mean, all of the info is out there. It is only a click away now thanks to the internet. NOTHING is stopping anyone from researching a 3rd option if they are unsatisfied with choosing between Dem and Repub.

Like it or not, that is simply the way it is.

You make assumptions not in evidence. To vote left or right implies neither that one is giving up nor that one is aligning oneself. Because you don't reason efficiently you can't argue intelligently and so, in your self induced delusion, you see yourself contesting Willy Wonka. You are only introducing emotional feelings which are not being consciously acknowledged.

Agree entirely

My commitment to the LP is not as strong as most. I see it as more of a tool of temperament rather than a viable third option. In fact, I think the purest beliefs of the LP are every bit as utopic and unrealistic as the purest beliefs of the left and right.

The luxury of this sort of flakiness is like a warm blanket :)

Strike a nerve, did I?

If you were actually interested in reason and reasonable discussion, your post would mean something. But you don't, so it doesn't. You just like to whisk about with what you believe are eloquent and romantic rantings, so don't let me or anyone else stop you. Carry on, by all means.

Don't be too hard on Moonbeam, he/she obviously has some mental issues, bashing him/her isn't going to help that out at all. Just take the posts at the only value they have, comedic, and move on...there's really not much else to do as having discussions with someone that lives in fantasy worlds who assumes they are the one in fact in reality is pointless.

I for one read the thread and got my daily laugh in: Thanks again Moonie!!!

No, and the subject your avoiding is your self-blinding assumptions. You made the claim it was a waste to argue and I showed you why. You don't think clearly and run away. Your notion of arguing is to insult.

If you don't understand my post all you have to do is ask for clarification. Don't assume that if you don't understand it that it's my fault. It may be but it may also be that you don't want to understand or lack the capacity. Don't make childish that I'm not interested in reason and a reasonable discussion. Demonstrate it with examples. Be specific as if you weren't just mouthing off and had a case.

Yup, I get that a lot, how I'm some sort of genius level nut case. Well from where I stand calling me literate just makes you sound real stupid.

It's pretty telling that you equate literacy with "genius". We acknowledged that you can read and implied that it places you about a half-notch above our little community's other two whackjobs. Don't let it grow your head too much ;) .

OK! I think we've now got enough demonstration to properly answer your question:

All it took, to show you was for YOUR fat stupid ego to get involved.

I was thinking 6 out of 10 due to the lack of originality and "funny", but it was more coherent than most of your posts, so you scored bonus points
