Formatting WinXP

I need to format my winXP and was wondering if its ok just to format it using the XP install CD or is it better to do it in DOS? Will it affect performance if I do it on the WinXP install CD?

Even if you did it in DOS, XP is going to ask you to let it reformat it (NTFS) anyway when you do the install.
Unless you particularly want FAT32 (most don't) I'd just use the XP install CD
