Formatting Vista in Windows 7

I have been running Windows 7 on a clean install on a Crucial 128GB SSD ( as a Dual Boot), now that I am happy with Win7 I want to format the HDD that Vista is on. I have tried through Disc Management but it will not allow me to format the Vista drive. When I disconnected the Vista drive the system would not boot from the Crucial drive, although it is seen in the Bios, and I set it for the 1st Boot Drive.
Any advice would be apprecited

by the sound of it, all the boot information for windows 7 is located on the same hdd that vista is on. on way to see if you can resolve it is to leave the vista drive disconnected, and boot off the install dvd, select your language and in the bottom there is repair my computer, this should rebuild the boot information on the win7 drive and then you should be able to boot from it and format the vista drive
