I have an ibm t20 laptop no floppy but a dvd/cdrom> I want to format the drive and relaod an operating system. I don't have a floppy to boot to and format the hard drive. That is the only way I know how. I'm running win 2000 pro and I would like to load xp corporate. What would be the best way to format and load my new operating system?
Thanks😕

Thanks but I want to format the c drive first start fresh. How do i format the hard drive having no floopy drive?
Thanks🙂

You ll need a Dos bootable CD ROM.

You can make one using Nero.

Boot into dos using the CD ROM. Format. Re install.

Is your dvd/cdrom bootable? If yes then during winxp installation there's a step for you to format and repartition your harddrive.

hmmmm thanks for the info don't know how to do that but i will try to figure it out thanks

Ok .. do what ys says:
Boot using the Windows XP cd. Choose Fresh Installation. Delete all existing partitions, and create a new partition to install Windows in. Windows automatically re formats the hard drive.
Its a painfully slow process btw 😛
