Formatting in NTFS

Anybody know how to format a partition in NTFS?

if you are in NT. go the start, run and type convert c:\fs:ntfs

It is NT but im already in NTFS. I just need to format it (wipe clean) not convert. by the way what is the "fs" for?

It's been a long time, but i recall using the standard fdisk util followed by a traditional DOS format. It's necessary to use fdisk FIRST. Did you try it?

One (very convienent) way to do it is with use of a 3rd party software, e.g. PowerQuest Partition Magic.
