Can you create a coaster formatting a CDRW? I was websurfing and my DSL was kind slow and seemed like websites were slowing down the computer. Next thing I know the CDRW I was formatting stops, I reboot, and the dang thing is no good. What the heck, does this happen all the time? This is my first CDRW so I'm not too familiar with it.

Of course that was the free CDRW blank included w/ the new drive so now I don't have anymore to see it works right LOL.

You can create a caster by formatting a CDRW just as you can burning one.

I'm still having a problem getting this to work. I went and bought new blank CDRW 4x-10x CDs and tried formatting and it didn't work. I tried dropping the speed while formatting and that didn't work.

The writer works when I copy a CD (used as CD-R) but I have not been able to get to work like storage disk in re-write mode.

It's a Plextor 12x10x32S using Adaptec DirectCD. Are there any shareware programs out for CDRW use that are more reliable?

Would it make a difference is my system is overclocked? I'm running at a 140 FSB. I went back down to 133 FSB but still no luck. I'm making coasters out of new blanks like they're going out of style and I'm ready to give up.

Is it possible that this drive could work properly as a CD-R but only the RW doesn't work?
