Takin bets...

How long before ya think i'll be back on posting? 😀

Im just waitin for this last 'backup some crap' cd to finish... 😀

If you go straight through setup and configure your internet connection and come straight to ATOT I would guess 25-30 minutes.

I had to format yesterday....no wait, it wouldn't the win2k files, so I had to load a ghosted image, then format, then install the OS. RAR

Yea, well my floppy just decided to crap out on me... Gonna push the times back a bit 🙂

Wont let me format my drive when i boot from cd... Its being an ass... Keeps saying "Your setup files are on this drive, cannot proceed with format"

So im gonna format by floppy then run the setup cd...

I usually do it by just booting from cd, but its being a numbnut today...

HAHAHAHAHA Another floppy drive died on me now... WTF 🙂

This is OT but relates to installing XP Pro onto my machine at home.

I'm probably going to buy (shocking I know, buy not "acquire") a Windows XP Pro upgrade to upgrade my Dell Dimension 4100 desktop. After doing a clean install from scratch how difficult/time consuming is it to d/l and install the Dell drivers?

I'll be making a huge leap from Windows ME which came with my Dell (preloaded with all the Dell crap) to XP without all the Dell preloaded crap!

XP will have most, if not all the drivers for your hardware native. If not, it's not hard at all to install drivers.

I built a P4 850i machine and the only drivers it didn't have was for my TB sound card and GF3 Ti500 VC. It does have drivers for GF2 cards though. It even had native drivers for my RAID card. But I ended up changing them because theirs were buggy.
