Formatting a RAID 0 partition?

Hey guys and girls,

I've had this computer for a year and a half, so I think it's due time for a reformatting. However, I tried my normal process of booting from the XP pro CD and going to the make/delete partition menu, but my harddrives aren't listed! I'm running a RAID 0 array with two 160 gig SATA seagates... yet the menu showed four Unknown Drives and gave me a stop error when I tried scrolling through it.

Is there some complication with formatting a RAID array, or is my Windows XP cd fried... or is it something else?

Thanks,

-David

Windows XP can't see the SATA Raid system until you load the drivers from a floppy. When you first start a new install of Win/XP it will ask you to hit F6 if you hvae any drivers on floppy and then later in the install it will prompt you to insert the floppy. Then you will be able to see the drives.
