so i didnt bother using the recovery cd's filled with useless software and xp home, so i got a copy and installed xp pro.
ive updated most of the drivers from the recovery cd's but still have a few question marks in device manager.

one of them is SM Bus Controller
and the other is Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller
although there is a whole section that windows already found called
Universal Serial Bus Controllers.


please advice

Installing the correct chipset software will take care of this for you.

Google tells me that you have the 855 chipset.

If this is the case, go here and download and install the INF Update Utility.

Realistically, though, this should be done earlier on in the reformat/reinstallation sequence.
