formating master boot record??????

I am redoing my computer, and I am going to format my hard drive, do I need to format my master boot record??? How hard of a process is it and what does it involve????

You do not need to bother doing anything to the master boot record.

To reformat your hard drive it is very easy these days.
Simply boot up your computer, insert the CD of your operating system of choice and follow the prompts to reformat/install the OS.
 
To wipe the MBR clean, go into Fdisk and delete all your partitions, then re-partition your hard drive. This will wipe out everything on the hard drive.
 
Cockeyed: I could be wrong, but I don't think fdisk /mbr actually clears the mbr. It does fix it though, had to do that numerous times when messing with Mandrake.
