formating help

I think i made a big mistake. I tried to reformat a ntfs drive to fat23 using fdisk, and not I cant get it back up and running
can someone giv me a setp by step guide to getting this drive back using fdisk and format, both from win ME. HELP please, I need this drive.

I've never used winME. can you get into DOS?

If I'm not mistaken fdisk won't recognize an NTFS partition. You need to use an NT setup disk to change it to FAT before you can do anything else to it.

Cant you just delete NON Dos partition in Fdisk?

I think it has something to do with the security in NTFS as to why fdisk won't completely delete it.

Boot to DOS prompt using boot flopy that have FDISK & FORMAT file.

At prompt type: FDISK /MBR then proceed to del non DOS partition.
