Formating help plz!!!!!

I am trying do move back to win98 from win2k and when I try to fdisk I get the message can't delete extended dos partition until logical drives are deleted then it when I try to delete the logical drives it says no logical drives defined WTF!?!

anybody have any ideas thanks for the help....

Yeah:

1st idea: Stay with windows2000. It's better.
2nd idea: Fdisk sucks, use partition magic or search these forum for posts on FREE partition managers.

I keep an old copy of RedHat Linux. It will blow away any partition. I usually cancel the install after I delete the old partition.

I had it running ( RedHat 5.1 )last year, but the GUI seemed slow and unresponsive. I'm going to try Linux again in a week or so. I have 4 desktop machines. I'm making the game server a Linux box as soon as I get more memory and a CD ROM drive.

Might convert the other three, also, if Microsoft leaves the hardware checking bug in XP.

OK...here's what you do (I guess you used NTFS for Win2k).... boot using the Win2k CD...act like you're going to install the OS again...on the screen where it lets you choose which drive/partition you want to install Win2k in (and also convert FAT & FAT32 to NTFS), delete all partitions.

Reboot

Fdisk from there.
