I'm running Win2k on an NTFS partition. I want to do a complete reinstall, not just over the top of the old crap. How in the h3ll do I format the nfts partition????

Just boot from the win2k cd, when it asks which partition, just delete the partition and recreate and format it ntfs again.

hmm

i was under the impression that you can't delete the first partition on a drive without deleting all the other logical parititons...

i dont believe you have to recreate the partition. you should be able to just format the partition to ntfs and get a clean install.

the win2k install should do everything for you and leave you extended intact.
you may want to try using partition magic if you still feel a little insecure about the whole hting.

You can delete the primary partition without screwing up the extended partition (which holds the logical partitions). It just makes all that space in front of it free space.
