Okay, so I bought this computer used a couple months ago. I was browsing around my files and I find a lot of random crap from the guy who owned it before. I want to format the hard drive but I don't think I'm running a legit windows 7, hence "please activate your windows 7" pop-ups. Therefore, I cannot reinstall it that I know of. If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it. :awe:

Get a legal copy. If you are a student get the student discount Windows 7 Pro for $65, if you're not you are stuck with a $140 price tag.

32 bit (for computers that have 2-3 GB Ram)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-756-_-Product

64 Bit (For computers that have, or potentially will have over 3.5GB soon)

for the student discount you can go to the official site to either order it online, or get their sales number and call them.

If you really don't have the money you can just delete the random crap off as you find it.

I 2nd the motion of buying a legit copy of Windows 7.
I can't go along with simply deleting files from previous owner when found.
That's like wearing used underwear.
