Format a hard drive?

I have to reinstall win xp because my pc is messed up. Can someone please give me some useful advide on how to format a 80 gig hd?
I there something i can download off the net and make a floppy or something?

It should let you format it when you install from the CD.

I tried that but I don't see any options to do that
I eventually get to a spot to where it says "you are going to install a second OS" or something like that

try popping in a Windows 98 boot disk floppy and using fdisk

if you are having trouble formatting with the winXP cd and you know how to do it the old fashion way then get a bootable floppy disk and run fdisk. If you dont have a floppy disk go to bootdisk.com
