OK. I know there isn't much info here, but I should be able to give you more shortly. I just got a call from a friend at another company and he says that one of their customers who has a Unix server is getting the error "Cannot Fork"........ . He is getting the rest of the error for me, and I will post it ASAP. He also says that they are getting an error relating to the "Mail Daemon". I'll be honest with you, I don't know much about Unix, but I DO know quite a bit about hardware. He seems to think it's some sort of a hardware problem. Anyway, if someone could offer some insight.....
 
"Fork" in Unix generally refers to creating a new process (child) that has the same properties as another process (the parent). If there's a problem forking a process, then there's something hosed in the server. It might be out of memory... maybe if there was a error on the HD system, it's getting VM errors... maybe there's a problem with privedges/file ownership...

I'm a Unix user - not a system admin, so I'm sorry I can't be more help. Post the actual error and the OS and system.
 
OK, here is the rest of the error message.

"Could not fork to run/tcb/lib/initcond : resource temporarily unavailable"
then something about error 11.

Also,

"Could not fork to users shell : resource temporarily unavailable"
then something about error 11

Mule : So you are saying to place a spoon between the mobo and the backplane and make sure that there is plenty of contact between them??? 🙂
