Forgot Router Password

You could technically try a brute forcer, but it's probably faster and easier just to reset it.

Depends on the router...

Change the config register so that it loads a default config then when in enable mode configure the startup-config. Change the password there and write it. Then reload the router and change your config register.

Why can't you just reset it? 10 minutes worth of clicks and you'll have the lil' linksys reconfigured back to the way it was in no time. Cmon, you couldnt have configured it that elaborately.

Lol, well I already reset it. But I was searching google and the results indicated that there was no other way other than resetting it. So I'm kinda curious as to how you could do it without having to reset.

The correct way to fix it is to put it in a bathtub full of water with it still plugged into the wall and desktop. Then try to log in again.

I've had very mixed results with Linksys routers ... they work great when they work but for whatever reason 5 or 6 have just failed on me for no apparent reason.

And resetting the router was by far the easiest solution to the OP's problem.

Can anybody explain to me why the price of the wrt54g has exploded? I got mine four years ago at best buy for $40, not on sale. Now its hard to find one for less than $60.
