Ya So im installing windows xp, i formatting my hard disk. Now i go into my cd drive E; and do this

E:\> run setup and it says cannot run setup in dos mode. What do i do? forgot, thanks.

How about set your motherboard to boot from CD-ROM and then run WinXP Setup from the CD-ROM itself? That's the conventional method.

edit: btw, if your WinXP CD doesn't have SP2 pre-integrated, be aware of the need to have firewall protection to prevent worm infection behind your back: my suggested approach here

it's best to install it from booting the cd.

the program should be called winnt if you're running it from a 16 bit OS, or winnt32 if you're calling it from a 32 bit OS.
