From the beginning.
The old system:
ECS K7S5A
2 X 256mb PC2100
XP2100
Sparkle Ti4200
CL Live 1028
Win XP Pro + SP1
The new system.
Asus A7N8X Deluxe Rev. 2 1.00.5
1 X 512mb PC2700 Elixir
On board nForce sound
The rest is the same as it was a transplant into a new case. Now the problem, the USB ADSL modem. In the old system, fine. Now the new system has been built the modem software, USB and the modem don't seem to want to communicate after a shutdown. Once installed correctly, modem software, reboot, plug in modem, recognition and we are away, no problem but once the rig has been turned off, no light on the modem. Just nothing. Unplugging and plugging back in just gets the "unidentified USB device" even though the damn software is installed. The modem is an Alcatel Speedtouch and we have tried both the original and the latest updated driver. This is one of a few problems but one I would like to resolve ASAP as going through the installation process every time the machine is needed is too much. No, I don't want to hear "why don't you leave it on all the time?"
Any ideas will be gratefully recieved.
