Here we go again. Asshats that can't drive with the flow of traffic need to have their licenses revoked. That means if someone is camping in the left lane and you can't pass them... TOUGH SHIT. You're perfectly welcome to get off the road if you don't like the way other people are driving.

Interesting snippet on the autobahn from wiki;

"Autobahn sections with unrestricted speed have the same crash record as sections with speed limits"

IMO most of the accidents aren't due purely to speeding. Mostly they are a result of people just being careless, and not paying attention to whats happening around them.

I hate people like the OP as well, they are the ones that NEVER leave a safe distance between cars, will cut in front of people at extremely close and dangerous proximities, and have no patience.

*shrug*.. too bad. Either get with it or get out of the way, is my motto.

Honestly, when I see someone like that riding my ass while I'm passing someone, I slow down (only if he is the only one waiting, I don't do that for multiple people).

I don't do that if they're passing someone. I do it when they're just sitting in the left lane.

Yes, that's quite annoying.

I don't much care what they think of me doing that. If they're going to inconvenience me by driving slow in the left lane when there's plenty of room in the right lane I'm going to inconvenience them.

I'd say at least 50% of the time someone sitting in the left lane going slow is somehow distracted, usually with a phone or intense in-car conversation with passengers.

Simply stating. Once I'm by the person I want nothing more to do with them. They're usually distracted and me slowing down will only show their incompetence. I just prefer not to put myself in that situation.

It's one thing if someone's in the left lane and cannot get out of my way due to traffic, but it's quite another to sit in the left lane when the right lane is free and they're not passing anyone.

I drive the speed limit but I also stay in the right/middle lanes except to pass. Someone could be passing the car in front me in the left lane but you think they're not going fast enough so instead you swerve in front of me to pass in the far right lane. But when you get into my lane (an unsafe distance in front of me no doubt) you slam on your breaks because someone is merging into the right lane and you're forced to swerve back into mine.

Completely safe.

The camper needs to have their license revoked.

And it's people like you that make people like the OP do it even more. Also attributes to road rage...albeit that's on both parties. Why is it so hard to get over to the right?

It's so rare around here that when people actually do get over I'll give a friendly wave and nod.

LEFT LANE IS FOR PASSING

Read my post again, I AM PASSING. Slowing down would be much less effective if I were just cruising in the left lane with nobody to the right. Generally, it is while passing that people like to OP come riding my tail at 90 in a 65 zone. I pretty much alway stay to the right. I never cruise in the left lane.

I don't care if the OP hates me, If he can't abide by safe driving rules, then I'll slow down until he has to. I've had guys tailgate me in a 60Mph zone while I was going 60. I ended up slowing all the way down to 40 before the sucker finally passed me. (2 lane bidirectional highway).

Typical entitled attitude. Other people pay for and use the roads too. Why is it so hard for slower traffic to keep right?

Having said that if a slow person is in the left lane I just pass on the right.

I think what the OP is talking about is more of when two cars are side by side and no one is in front of them.

The bigger problem is that many people are simply not aware of other drivers on the road.

You need to pay attention to the flow of traffic, and adjust your speed to match the majority of drivers on that road. You need to regularly watch your mirrors and change lanes to allow faster drivers to pass you. And you need to merge at the posted speed limit - to enter the highway going slower than the flow of traffic is dangerous.

I'm by no means a maniac on the road, but I do like to drive slightly faster - I agree with the posters who cite getting there more faster. On a highway with a posted speed of 90km/h, I drive 100-110km/h. If someone is doing 85-90 in the left lane, I will put my foot down and pass on the right. But if I'm doing 110 in the left lane and someone comes barreling up behind me at 120+, I'll switch lanes and let them through.

Courtesy is apparently a lost art.

Then there's no problem.

Nah, I don't hate you. I just don't recognize your or anyone else's authority to tell me what "safe driving" is.

I read it. You said you slow down. That's what I have a problem with. If you're passing though I'm not going to be riding your ass. I'll keep a safe distance and let you pass and get over.
