It's your choice when you want to turn them in. Save 35,000 points and get $700 - that's 2%. You get 1 point per $ spent. If you want to turn them in more frequently, you get a lower %.

ChubbyWallet has a thread going right now about reward CC options, in the Finance forum (fyi I posted the stockback card there last week). Consensus seems to be FBB (my choice), Amex Starwood, or gas cards.

and here is an entire site on the subject. bon apetit.

I am happy with Citibank Dividend MC and 1st USA Cash Reward Visa. They are both straight 1% (Citibank cashs out every $100, 1st USA every $25), no fine print like AMEX or Farm Bureau or Discover (all 3 are UP TO x%, read the fine print).

stockback mastercard would be almost a must have card if they can get a deal with amazon and replace the amazon 5% rebate card currently amazon has with nextcard. since nextcard is in trouble, maybe stockback will include amazon too in the future.

FARM BUREAU IS NOT UP TO 2% it is 2% - read the details. It's up to you (not them) at what level you want to turn in your points at - starting at some miniscule level to 2%. Spend $35,000, get 35,000 ponts and turn them in for $700 - THAT'S 2%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The difference between this card and your cards is $350 at that level - do the math. PLUS, those 2 cards you carry can max out.

If you want to throw away the $350 fine. I think you should do more exhaustive research and read the details.

SD: I really don't think waiting 2-3 years for that $750 is a good deal at all. Getting 1% each month is much better.
I'm using Shell and am happy with it (it also helps that my local Shell gas station has very competitive prices...)

It only takes me about 13-14 months to get my $700. I charge everything on it from bills to groceries. At 2% back I'll pay anyone who takes it. Oh, and don't forget, there are places out there that allow you to buy travelers checks on a credit card. So, just buy them and pay the card off with the checks!

From the details:
"Rewards cannot be Redeemed, and cash rewards from merchants participating in the Stockback Program, cannot be deposited, until you open a brokerage account with Stockback Capital. "

I don't like it, but if you do, make sure you open an account with Stockback Capital...

it's still a good option for some. for example, for officemax you get 3% back, online and offline.
if you buy from dell.com 2%, buy.com 2.5%..etc and the reward is automatically deposited.

Don't they charge 1% commision fee on buying those traveller's checks? If they don't, let me know where I can buy some.
