Forget deoderant - use vinegar - really

I've always broke out from deoderant. I've tried a million brands. Recently, I read online that vinegar makes an excellent deoderant if applied to the underarms in the morning. So I started using a cloth to wet my underarms with vinegar in the morning. I'd then blow dry them (it made the vinegar smell go right away). I can go 14-15 hours now with no discernable odor even if sweating.

Thought this might help someone. It really does work well.

really? i would think that the vinegar would start to smell like vinegar if you started sweating...
do you just use regular white distilled vinegar?

Yea white distilled. After I blow dry it, you can notice the vinegar smell for maybe 10-20 minutes. According to my wife you can't smell it 30 mintues later.

OP, if you have more serious sweating issues, there are a few different solutions that you can get from your Dr. to really help stop sweating!

No, no sweating issues. It is simply that many brands of deoderant severely give me a painful rash and inflamation. The deoderants that don't give me a rash seem to be ineffectual at odor elimination.

So, a week ago I tried this vinegar thing, and I've been very happy. No odor. No rash.

Yea pretty bad sometimes.

Have you tried straight deoderant without anti-perspirant? It might be the zinc getting to you.

How fast does the smell really go away?

That, and does it act as just the deodorant, or an anti-persperant too?

Mine isn't that bad, but sometimes in a crowded workroom, I don't like feeling a drop of sweat slowly make its way down my side and I can't just push my shirt into it for fear of a sweat spot.

That's why I wear an undershirt. I do hate that feeling though.

I drink a ton of water and my diet is free of foods that resulot in bad BO - stuff like a lot of meat, diary, etc.

So I usually don't put on deoderant/antiperspirant and I don't smell! Well at least no one, not including my GF, family, friends, etc. have never mentioned it . . .. :Q

According to your wife after 30 minutes eh? Have you ever noticed after walking into a room, after a while you lose notion of any discernable sense in it? It's called acclimation. I have a dog, and a cat. Neither of which I can smell right now. However, after being at work for 10 hours in a climate controlled environment, just opening the door to my home reminds me olfactorally that I do indeed have both a dog and a cat... for about 20-30 minutes.

I would tend to say the same thing happens with you. You probably do smell like vinegar to others you cross paths with, however being polite, noone is likely to say anything to you, but rather they're likely to think of the classic, "Hidden Valley Duche - in original, ranch and now chunky bleu cheese!"

old spice kills my arm pits. Switch to a women's deodorant, like secret. I promise it's better under your arms. :)

I've used Drysol for the past 13 months or so.

I used to sweat like a madman...even in 65 degree rooms my pits would be full of sweat and you could see it through my clothes. Since the first day I EVER put on Drysol, I haven't had so much as a drop unless I've been in a serious workout. Even on a hot summer day I'm not able to walk around with a gray T-shirt and hold up my arms, confident that not even one drop is there! I apply it once every 2 weeks now.

I use it too!
when i had surgery, i couldn't wear any lotions, deodorant anything and i knew i wouldn't be able to take a shower for a while afterwards anyways, so i used it and it worked wonders.
I started using it when i was doing stage acting... lights got hot and it always worked!
