i recently sold something on ebay, valued at over 700 dollars. some idiot from singapore as usual wins it even though it says US only auction. now we all know, malaysia, indonesia, singapore, poland, the eastern block and all these shady countries, are horrible places that send things like counterfeit money orders and use stolen credit cards.

so i tell him, i cant send it to you unless you have a US mailing address, and pay via paypal or money orders only. So he says i have a shipping address in boston, send it there. so he goes i'll pay with a money order. and i go ok fine.

so he says he needs my social security number to make a international money order. i'm like yeah right, you scamming jack hole, go away, i am canceling this whole deal. so now he wants to give me a negative! can you believe that.

i've got 317 positive feedback. and no negatives. arg, i'm so mad.

Perhaps instead of ranting you should have asked us if it's legit for him to be asking for your SSN ...

Somehow I doubt it is, but I've never done international business, so I don't know. :p

ok ok , maybe we can just break his computer and throw it at him./

Tell him you don't have a SSN. And I wouldn't trust PayPal from him either...

I gave up on ebay two years ago. It was just one headache after another. One guy sent me a 2 year old radar detector that was advertised as brand new, and it wasn't even the same model. I had to bicker with the fool for two weeks before he gave me back my money. Another guy bought some CDs from me. He emailed me to say he broke one of them while taking it out of the jewel case. He wanted his money back. I said no way, you broke it. He gave me this unreal negative feedback saying that I sent him and empty jewel case.

People on ebay are stupid lamers, kids, headcases and cheap bastards.

Exactly, send him on a goosechase. Better yet, forward his emails to the fraud people at ebay so you have a case if/when he does leave a negative.

yeah that thought occured to me but anyone can just randomly think of some digits.

Besides wouldn't you at least need their name to do any sort of damage/ID theft?

why don't you just tell him that he don't need your SSN to send a money order. Name and address are the 2 important things.

Uhhhh think guys...

SS# + your name/address of where to send the money to = all the info needed.

I'd watch your credit ratings if you ever "accidently" did something that stupid....

They wont care, the negative will not be removed.

Better yet, forward his emails to the fraud people at ebay so you have a case if/when he does leave a negative.

Wow your parents let you use the computer that early in the morning? They need to keep your Internet-usage on a stricter watch because it's easy to run across the fearful gay people.

Ebay investigations are little more than lip service, on the one hand I had a buyer who didn't know what a super socket 7 motherboard was and thought he could put his SLOT A athlon into it, long story short, ebay doesn't ask me what happened, they just sent 1 email saying my account has been banned for poor trading practices. While using my father's account I sold a laptop LCD, and clearly state in the auction you cannot use CC paypal, some idiot using an @aol email address tells me that is the only way he will pay, I am not going to see any money from that lamer.
