I had Mcdonalds in Hong Kong. Everything on the menu is the same except for some chicken terikyaki sandwiches. The value meals were cheaper than the ones here.

Wow! In my experience, you're wrong on every count. I believe I've been to McDonalds in Britain, Italy, Greece, Germany, Czech Republic, and Austria from what I remember and they were all $7+ for a combo meal, had the same size burgers, and offered a Quarter Pounder or equivalent burger. I like being able to get a beer with my burger, but I hate being charged for kwtchup. :|

Hmmmm, over here (Finland) just about all meals are 4.5 euros and the ketchup is free. They have Quarter Pounder and the "local speciality" is rye-hamburger. It's tastes pretty decent actually.

In Germany (Bavaria) I found both McDonald's and Burger King to actually be better than they are here. I think they may use pork in their burgers. And one of the McDonald's I went to was pretty nice on the inside. Of course, you have to get used to the no-ice/no-free-refills/limited-condiments/lack-of-Dr-Pepper, but overall I was happy. I agree that it seems like kind of a waste, but when you're over there for two months, and you're in a hurry to catch a train, and you just feel like eating something that you're used to, BK/MD's can really hit the spot.

Foreign mcdonals are cheaper
their Big Macs have a bigger piece of meat than ours
they don't have 1/4 pounders.

What are your experiences with mcdonald in foreign countries?

In Germany it is more expensive, the piece of meat is the same size, and they do have 1/4 pounders (different name).

If I remember correctly, the 1/4 pounders served by German McDonalds are called Hamburger Royale. Filet-O-Fish is known as FischMac.

McDonalds in Germany also serve beer. 😀 😀 😀

Hmmm McDonalds in Germany sux just as bad as in the US, The Quarterpounder with Cheese is called "Hamburger Royal mit Käse" the combo meals are about $4.5 (I think, never eat at McD only BK for they have real Burgers with vegetables on them, plus u can order all Vegetables (salad, onion...) extra. only thing good at McD is the McRib which they don't have outside Germany, dunno about US). I also hate being charged for Ketchup, but I think they do that only in Germany - dunno why, they babbled something about a tax thing. And Yes they serve beer here, at McD as well as BK. I ordered a beer at BK once - threw it away - tasted horrible and not like beer at all - it was Miller genuine something but certainly not beer.

Yeah, I noted that the McDs in Germany charge for ketchup, mayo and other condiments. 30 oder 40 pfenning damals, glaube Ich. Found that rather annoying. At least McDonalds in Frankfurt served Römer Pils. In Bremen, they served Becks.

Burger King in Germany is absolutely horrible! I'm not talking about BK on US bases. But the BKs around Germany.

I wish they had Wendy's over here.... At least I remember them Wendy burgers from the US being pretty big and good but that was like 10yrs ago ....

Yep, they still are!
Have you ever had a Tommie Burger?

the combos (#1, #2 etc) or whatever u call em are R$6.5 in brazil roughly and that converts to just over $2, very roughly again

and we DO have quarter pounders, despite using the metric system. oh and most of the world prolly has em but calls em differnetly...

There were a few Wendy's in Germany, but they closed. I dined at a Wendy's in Frankfurt back during the 80s near the Hauptbahnhof.

well its sht in the uk as well, there is no juice in the meat except the 1/4lber, and the milkshakes are gross 1/3 chicken fat!!!

In the Uk i go to pret a manger a sandwich shop which is also in New York now, and in Cairo I used to go to Little Caesars who are american I think, and in Iran I went to sandwich shops that did felafel baguettes , ummmm.
