The Ford Synus concept car has a 45-inch Sharp Aquos monitor mounted on the interior side of the tailgate door. Coupled with a high-res camera on the outside of the door, it can turn the entire monitor into a virtual glass back, looking out on traffic behind you. That would make the Synus the easiest SUV to back up in a tight parking lot--if this technology makes it to production.

Yeah, because before this was out, I couldn't just turn around and look for myself.

Does the cam allow for controlled movement of the lense to look lower or left and right? What's the range of view? i.e. how many degrees with regard to peripheral does the cam display?

LOL.

there's no way that thing will make it to production.

Don't say that, I wanted a blue or grey one so I could paint "Binx". Then park where I wanted and have someone just sitting waiting in the driver's seat.

And what's up with other concept vehicles having non standard opening doors. link. I guess that's the look of the future, but one will really use it.

useless, unless you could hook up a dvd or playstation and flip the door around for camping trips
