Why won't they bring those Focus' here? I would definitely buy either of them. They are super nice.

i actually prefer the older style focus, it still has edge, (the hatchback of course, the new saloon looks so much better, but the new hatch has a horrible front that doesnt match the car, it looks more like the new fiesta at the back as well)

I feel your pain dude...look at all the cool stuff Ford Australia gets. Damn it, aren't we the #1 car market in the world?
IMO, Australia gets the best cars in the world. I don't get it. It seems like every car down there is a pimp muscle car-esque sedan or a high hp AWD rally car... while we get stuck with these crappy SUVs. :( :|

If you want the Euro Focus, get a Mazda3. It's almost the same thing, but without the Volvo styling cues :D

True dat. :D I believe it was the Euro division of Ford who worked with Volvo and Mazda on the platform for the car.

I've seen that car at work in SoCal. I think they have them down in Mexico and the executives sometimes rent them when they come up to our facility. It is slightly larger than the Focus.

Edit-I think it was called the Mondeo...or something like that.

BTW-The Focus does suck. There are a few Ford cars that suck and that I would never own.

Hopefully so. acemcmac is the resident tool of ATOT. You know, just a few months ago he was saying what a POS his V6 Mustang was, and now he's very satisfied.

I think Fords in America are moving in a good direction. Most of the 05 models are not bad at all (Focus, Freestyle, 500, Mustang), and the upcoming Fusion looks like a very nice Taurus replacement.

acemcmac: ford sucks, but not quite as much as you do.

I've owned two ford vehicles and even if you handed me another one for free I would not take it, that's how much I think their quality is disgusting.

Seems like both Ford and GM sell better looking cars overseas than here. That blows.

Europe in general seems to get better overall engines/cars for your all-purpose vehicles.

Maybe, just maybe you can justify my last car with ford:

1) exploding tires that kill people (not really Ford's fault, but in a way is)
2) new transmission after 70,000 miles
3) two alternators
4) fuel pump
5) 4WD gearbox gears breaking
6) losing power randomly
7) broken speedometer
8) broken center console
9) broken door handles on the inside on both rear doors
10) non closing gate latch
11) random check engine lights causing the car to turn off that two different ford delearships couldn't figure out.

Put up or shut up.

I've owned a '92 Ford Ranger 4x4 for about 4.5 years now. No major repairs or anything. I've changed the oil, replaced the tires, had brake work done, and had it tuned up. That's it.

So either I have an exception to the rule or a ticking time bomb. I can't wait to find out!

You people need to get out of the 80s and early 90s. The quality of anything American in that time paled in comparison to foreign stuff. That's not really the case nowadays.
