Apparently the website is getting hit HARD, I keep getting too many connections error. I personally havent read it, but it was copied elsewhere. Seems a Ford service tech was fixing a 03 Cobra and decided to0 go for a little test drive...

It Was Waaaaaaaaaay Cool
MAN IT WAS WAY COOL, DROVE A '03 COBRA VERT TODAY THAT WAS IN THE SHOP, ME AND ANOTHER TECH TOOK IT OUT AND DROVE IT, DROVE HER HARD, 6 SPEED TRANNY, WE HIT 140 MPH REAL QUICK, TALK ABOUT POWER. NOT THAT WE DO IT HERE ALL THE TIME, BUT I JUST HAD TO RUN IT, IT WAS CALLING MY NAME... THE POWER IT HAS IN UNREAL, YOU JUST NEED TO GET OUT AND TEST DRIVE ONE TODAY, BY THE WAY, THE CUSTOMER'S COMPLAINT WAS LACK OF POWER AND POOR GAS MILEAGE, WHAT A CROCK... NEEDLESS TO SAY, IT IS OWNED BY A FEMALE, SHE EVEN SAID IT WAS DYNOED AT A SHOP AND THEY TOLD HER THAT THE CONVERTORS WERE TOO HOT AND THE FUEL TRIM WAS WAY OFF. I HOOKED IT UP TO THE COMPUTER, FUEL TRIM WAS NORMAL, CAT TEMP WAS OK, NO CODES, AND IT RAN GREAT. GO FIGURE.. OH YEAH, SHE EVEN TOLD THE SERVICE WRITER TO MAKE SURE THAT NO "PUNK" DRIVES HER CAR, WELL SINCE I AM THE MUSTANG SPECIALIST HERE AT THE DEALER, I GUESS I AM "THE PUNK", ALL THE MORE TO DRIVE HER '03 COBRA VERT AND SEE WHAT ITS GOT.. HEHE HOPE SHE DIDNT HAVE A HIDDEN CAMERA IN THAT CAR...... GET THIS, HER PLATES SAY "xxxxxx"

Just something to keep in mind, if you take your car to a dleaer, you may want to record the miles before dropping it off. Again, i havent seen it so its an unseen unconfirmed post on my part. Still, something to keep in mind.

Checking the miles won't help. She had a complaint of lack of power. They had to drive it. They didn't say they took it out of town or anything. Just took it out and booted it. That's what it's made for. I will say that going 140 is quite excessive, but if the customer complains about lack of power, then it is the technician's job to go out and verify the problem. The complaint could just as easily been from a customer with a 4 cylinder Ranger, and nobody would care if the tech went out and floored it a few times.
