the guy at carpoint doesn't necessarily agree with edmunds
Lively Performance and Good Economy
However, the V6 provides lively in-town acceleration and decent acceleration on highways, at least with just a driver aboard.
and edmunds doesn't know how to use a gas pedal properly, methinks

It's a pretty good car, but underpower. It feels very solid, the doors feel thick and heavy, which I like. The interior is the best from Ford IMO. I think an Outback from Subaru with turbo is a better choice. It's sad to see Ford and GM can't build a modern V-6 for their cars. I mean Ford owns Mazda, and Mazda has made the Duratec better in the Mazda 6, while Ford hasn't. While GM is still putting pushrod V-6s under the Malibu and G-6 and act surprise when people aren't coming to the showroom. GM V-6s are harsh and trashy vs something from Honda or Toyota, or even Hyundai. Nothing against push rod engine tech, since those engine sound awesome and put out tremendous power in the Corvette or the Chrysler 300C. Enough ranting for the day :).
