Thought I saw that on one of the news channels!

Goodbye, POS.

For all of you who were happy to see the f-body GM cars go, how long did THEY last??

Good ridence. Looks like they copied the Jaguar body. Still a ford though. Thought it was butt ugly when it first came out.

Turquoise T-bird was a beautiful car, but not worth $40,000. Amazing that they sold 19,000 of them !

They're distinctive, but definitely overpriced. As I said in the other thread, I bet Ford dealerships weren't willing to deal on this car which has probably contributed to the slow sales.

If they priced it between $25-$33K, sales would increase dramatically. If you have $40,000 to spend on a car, you've got a lot of options. Why settle on a Ford?

Sometimes I wonder if people running coporate America are too stupid or too greedy...

The latest T-bird was too small and had a gutless 6-banger in it. Same price gets you a new Corvette instead which is bigger and a real sports car.

I didn't think the car sucked, but I thought it was way too expensive ...

It just wasn't working for Ford... good idea on the cut IMO.. I am more disappointed to hear that the Marauder is gonna be cut too... that sucks, I actually LIKE that car. booo.

They were ugly anyway. Now if the rest of the 'retro' BS cars would go away.....

Damn they're dealing in some cash! 25,000 expected units x $40k = $1 billion in expected Tbird sales

The new Thunderbird has a V8 in it.

There are dealers here in Indy that are advertising them for "under invoice". I totally agree that that car is at least $10K overpriced

But as the article said I read, why did Ford announce killing a car on a Wednesday instead of a Friday when it would be buried? And why kill it in a year or two, why not now? Hoping for "collector" status in its final years to drive sales up?
