Good day,

We are looking for a SUV/Mini-Van because he also plans to use it for transporting his family members, complicated story.

I also came across a 1999 Toyota Sienna about 163k miles, second owner, private seller.

Price is near KBB, does this have any life left in it?

Much appreciated,
K. Rhoden

Large family, I take it? Still, large vehicles are much more expensive to drive than smaller ones. If at all possible, I'd still vote for something smaller and taking 2 cars when you need to pack more than 4-5 people in.

If you insist on a large vehicle, the Sienna sounds pretty good. I like the Odyssey more, but they typically hold a premium.

Considering how well they maintained the oil it probably just needs a trans fluid change.

Friend owns a trucking company. He grabs ford rangers (basically the same as the escape) when he sees them. There are a couple on his lot with around the 300k mark. He likes that they are super simple to work on and parts are stupid cheap.

The only thing a Ranger and an escape ever had in common was portions of the duratech 2.5 l 4 cyl. That's literally it. The 3.0 in the Ranger was a Vulcan engine, and the escape is a duratech. Fwd transmissions, rwd transmissions. Literally incomparable.

The escapes have proven to be pretty reliable, for that price I wouldn't hesitate.
