Ford Crown Vic Interceptor concept!

It has crush-resistant bumpers with reinforced steel push bars, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a V-8 engine. But its most imposing feature is the badge it wears. Ford unveiled the Ford Interceptor concept at the New York International Auto Show to shine the spotlight on the vehicle that protects and serves more municipalities in the U.S. than any other, the Ford Crown Victoria Based on the 2003 Ford Police Interceptor, which this year receives major ride, steering, and handling upgrades for today?s law enforcement officer, the Interceptor concept adds styling cues and tests new technologies to advance police work in the new millennium. The Interceptor?s front end features a one-of-a-kind push/pursuit beam that extends beyond the normal bumper of a police car. With a properly executed push in the corner of a vehicle, the beam can be used to force a fleeing suspect?s vehicle into a spin. The Interceptor concept also features extra-illuminating high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps flanked by halogen strobe lights, innovative search mirrors with integrated front-facing halogen searchlights, an Edge light bar complete with flashing halogen and strobe lights, specially designed front bucket seats with a narrow "seat-bite" to accommodate officers? bulky belts and holsters, an easy-access trunk release, and other upgrades. Under the hood is a performance-enhanced 4.6-liter, 4-valve V-8 engine that produces 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. The Interceptor concept is also designed to test new ideas for a new age of law enforcement, like the Accident Data Recorder 2 system "Blue Box" that was jointly developed by Ford Racing Technology, Delphi Automotive Systems, and the Championship Auto Racing Team (CART).

Those are some nice looking rims.

OHH MA GAWD.

I can only hope the U of M DPS will be getting those when they're available. Time to go to the police academy. 😀

I'm assuming they reinforced the fuel tank, so we won't lose any more officers in fiery explosions.

Yeah.. arent the po po going to stop using them because of that?

The police might have a car that can keep up with decently now. The current crown vic, in straight line performance wasnt any better than grandma's.

Well, in 99'... Curb Weight (lb), 3942~

A Police Interceptor with the Marauder engine and Police Interceptor gearing is estimated to reach 0-60 mph in 7.5 seconds and have a top speed of 140 mph.

Say what?

Seen that a couple months back here

Screw the 4.6, the CA Highway Patrol is testing out a couple 6.8 V10's that Ford dropped in the Crown Vics. Now THAT hauls @$$

. The early emphasis was on the 5.4L SOHC engine, which has more torque for bottom end responsiveness than the 4.6L SOHC V-8. The 5.4L engine, however, will not fit in the Crown Victoria due to interference from the windshield wiper assembly.

Forget that come down to South Carolina where the highway patrol use marked and unmarked Cameros. That will ruin your day!

Looks like a photochop to me. The car may exist, but I've seen that picture before (posted here actually).

I looked really hard when I saw that picture because I just *expected* Robocop to be sitting behind the steering wheel.

What are you smoking... the Police Interceptors now have a lot more power than grandma's crown vic... it changes every year but in 97/8 they had the same motor that the SVT Cobra was using... A buddy of mine is a cop and there's no way in hell grandma's Vic has as much power as a police cruiser...

KRAAAAAAP I live in NYC. The freakin Impala's are lame, damn Pigs can't catch me. Freaking Crown Victoria and V8 Power is really going to kill me. DAMMMN YOU PIGS..... DAAMN YOU TOO HELLLLL!!!!!!

No. I'd like to think I have a good eye for anything that's graced Photoshop. Sorry, no. Quit being so hyper superstitious. (hyperstitious?)
