you sure? I think it's hot!! but i think it's only available in Euro? I love the Cosworth Rally car. I would buy a real one for more than 10k (not a fake one with body kits)

Focus Cosworth

OP is talking about the Escort Cosworth, not the Focus Cosworth. The Escort version was OK for it's time, but that bigass shopping cart wing on the back is just goofy.

i think the focus RS would sell in the US, it's a better car than the srt-4.

I think Ford needs to bring a AWD Focus Rally car to compete against Evo and STi

just get a regular escort and stick on some of those non-functional vents and paint your calipers/drums red... that's what all the gringos over here do. Kwality with a capital K.

Haha, so true

I have, however, seen one mint condition, true Escort Cosworth. Was about a year ago, painted in a deep purple colour, with tasteful alloys (i.e. not "I'M GOING TO DESTROY ANYTHING THAT GETS NEAR ME!!"), and a modest spoiler.

Even the dump valve was fairly quiet. I was a bit surprised, to say the least.

Still, I managed to drive the equivalent Group-A-spec Escort Cosworth rally car at Brands Hatch about six years ago, and it was shockingly fast.

wrong continent.. 'spose you could import one.

not sure about how it works in the US, but here (canada) you can't import a car without 5mph bumpers and emissions BS until it is 15 years old.

Jon855,

If you live in Europe then you shouldn't have any trouble locating one but the cost is going to be high. These cars were only built for road racing although some were converted to be driven on the roads by enthusiasts.

If you in live in the states I would look for a Ford Escort GT. It?s the closest thing to the Cosworth Escort sold here. You could find a nice 95-96 model for less than $3000.

Good Luck,

Call up these guys:

http://www.suninternational-usa.com/

The Escort RS Cosworth definitely ranks as one of the best sports cars of all time. As for the wing, I like it and its very functional.

http://www.rsownersclub.co.uk/car_info/esccos.htm

I'm quite fond of the Sierra Cosworth as well, especially the RS500 version.

Another place you can look for any of the above is here:

But when you realize that they go for FAR more than the 8k you have to spend, get yourself either a DSM, Celica All-trac, or Mazda 323 GTX. Those are all very close to the spirit of the Escort and Sierra.

It's rare, good luck trying to find it. It's worth a hell of a lot more than 8k. That wing is completely functional. You need to get it imported if you ever DO find one.

Do those answer most of your questions? =0)
