From reading several of the Ford forums, it appears that this is a common, well-known problem. Not likely that NTSB will do anything about it, because it happens well after the warranty period expires. Hopefully, you managed to catch it in time before it did engine damage. I'd do a couple of oil changes once you put it together, (run for a few minutes, dump the oil, run, dump) then I'd be changing oil in that thing every 500 miles or so for a couple of months, to flush all the moisture/coolant out of everything...oil's still relatively cheap...especially when you compare it to parts and labor...
 
Yeah that is the same thing I have been reading, however, there was an issue like this with Toyotas and Oldsmobile and a engine that had issues well after warranty that did get resolved.
 
Good luck with that. This is my FIRST Ford ever...I've been driving for almost 40 yrs, and never owned one before this 05 Expedition. MOPAR mostly, (Dodge trucks), and several BMWs for cars...

Well, in the case of my '84 Toyota van, the "benefit" was that the engineers could run a hose from the intake manifold to the head on the back of the engine, and then laugh sadistically when the owner realizes that it's nigh-unto impossible to reinstall said hose (like, after removing and reinstalling the intake manifold) while the engine is still in the car. Worst. Design. Ever.
 
UPDATE: (5/2/2006):

Truck is back in action! However, I am not giving up on making a stink about this issue. This should not be happening to otherwise perfectly good cars and trucks, regardless of their mileage.

Agian, if you have experienced this you should really report this.
