Forcing agp 1x without the use of Powerstrip?

Just got my new Geforce2 MX (Asus 7100T). It wont do anything above 110 mhz fsb with agp-divider set to 2/3 and agp 2x-transfers. I get wierd flashing of textures and heavy crashes in Q3 (only in q3 though. Other opengl-games like MDK2 work fine). I have tried to force agp 1x with Powerstrip and then it can do at least 124 fsb without a hickup in Q3. The problem is that I do not want to use Powerstrip. I dont need another piece of software in my taskbar! I want to force the drivers (nVidia 6.18) into agp 1x without Powerstrip. I have tried the forceagp1xon.reg from www.geforcefaq.com, but it doesn't work. Wcpuid still reports 2x.

Please help me!

My setup:
Abit BE6 (newest bios)
P3-450 at various speeds
192 MB PC133
Asus 7100-T Geforce2 MX (nVidia 6.18)
Windows 2000 Pro (no service pack)

We need to get together on this. I have a Visiontek GF2 MX with an ASUS K7M and the only way I can get it to 2X AGP is with Powerstrip. All the various registry hacks don't work for me either.

Not absolutley certain about this but i beleive of you set the agp aperature size to less than 32 in the bios it forces it to 1x [say 16 or so]
