I'm surprised that noone hasn't post this yet..

The first leaked version of Forceware X 100.30 is a fact.

Grab it here and give all your feedback to this thread..
I haven't checked them out myself I'll do it ASAP..

Enjoy :) (biz and msdn owners :p) J/K

Interesting...

The most anticipated driver ever has finally been released/leaked or what ever you may like to call it.
8800 Users can now rejoice in finally having support in Vista which is not even released yet.
I wonder if this or a slightly later build will be included with Vista or will become a Windows Update Download.

I've tested the x64 version of this driver for a while now and am not too impressed with them on my go7900 GS (GTX BIOS modded).
The Control Panel is very lacking in any usability.

There is no:
Powermizer page
Resolution page
TV control page
Overlay page

Control Panel takes ages to pop up. (a another install of driver has made this shorter, but still takes ages)
Resolution always resorts to 1024x768 after a Standby/Resume.

It does have:
Rotate Page
Colour Page
Display Configuration page (Dualview Clone etc.)
3D Settings
Image settings

Now that the x64 version and nTune only work with x86 there is of course no Overclock page
There are good news though: this driver at least detects my LCD TV via HDMI (DVI) with it's proper name, 95 series drivers don't.
But some small issues still exist here as well, the TV MUST be selected first, then LCD panel else the TV just displays a blank page.

CODE[Version]
Signature = "$Windows NT$"
Provider = %NVIDIA%
ClassGUID = {4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Class = Display
CatalogFile = NV_DISP.CAT
DriverVer = 12/14/2006, 7.15.11.0030

This driver in it's original state is for 8800 series desktop GPUs only
Also there is no SLI support yet in Vista, but at least your have some support now.
A modded INF (supplied below) is needed unless you have a 8800 GPU.

Right, you're probably thinking why all this jabbering... where's the driver?

For 32bit Driver, modded INF and feedback head on over HERE.

For 64bit Driver, modded INF and feedback head on over HERE.

Can you not be a total fanboy for more than two seconds? This is a GOOD THING. It may not be official support, but it's better than nothing.

Should silence the fanatics on the vista support issue at least...
lol, yeah, and maybe some of those G80 owners as well...

Does anyone know if it's okay to use this driver with a G80 and XP? Or is it restricted to a G80 and Vista?

Also, I find it awkward that they say:
The Control Panel is very lacking in any usability.
After hearing that the drivers they were working on were doing a good job.

There's no way of knowing what version they're up to on the NV internal driver. Remember, these drivers are dated 12/14. Perhaps the control panel has been more fully fleshed out by now.

These are beta drivers probably from an OEM. I will not assume they are the ones Nvidia has now.

Anyway... this should satisfy most Vista users with the 8800 series cards until the final version comes out.

I would like to see feedback on the 3dmark06 scrores. I don't have vista yet so I can't test it myself.

Has anyone had a chance to do this test yet?

According to nvnews, they are getting higher 3dmark scores on VIsta.
What about game benchmarks or stability? Do a lot of games run correctly and fluidly with these? Also, does anyone know if these can be used with a G80 and XP, or are they limited to G80's and Vista?

They are limited to G80 and Vista. G80 requires completely different coding than past GPU's. Vista isn't based off of the NT architecture like XP/2000 was so they have to have 2 separate drivers for XP.

Forceware X drivers are rumored to be coming for XP, but who knows when; till then I am mildly satisfied with my 90 series drivers (Though I am getting a lot of bugs in NWN2).

Yup and nVidia are known to be working on a new Control Panel so they seem to have figured out how many people don't like their "new" one.

As for what version's they're up to, there was talk of a 100.50 a few weeks back.

I just notice this post on NVnews

Modded drivers for vista are now available which supports the 8800 series cards. ...Something to play with until the final release.

http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=84378"

if you check that link you will find actual user experience with the beta drivers ..except for that one poster that goes against the grain :)

Yeah which makes me wonder.. Why didn't Nvidia let this driver leak earlier? Hmm weird thoughts come into my mind..

Actually some guys have managed to run this driver in their G71 w/o issues through the modded inf file.. I find that weird too, since the code should be totally different..

Also some guys report equal or better performance in some games with this driver and Vista compared to XP.. Good news from an early leaked driver..

Hmm the AMD/ATI Vista beta Cats have crossfire available already. The dates are about the same too...

It will be interesting who gives better performing (especially curious about multi-GPU) drivers on Vista launch. Seems like there should have already been a pre-WHQL leak from each company...

I don't understand your point. The post was meant for those who already have vista and are screaming to have the drivers. I am not one of them. I did read the thread and thought it will be benificial to post that information here.

Um, no... not here. First off, launch is right around the corner. Second off, NVIDIA has delayed these drivers 2 months... Third off, supposedly the delay was to "polish" the drivers... and fourth, it took a "leak" from external sources for this crap.

I'm sorry, but if this is "polish" after two months, then it's no wonder why AMD bought ATI instead.

Yes, I am an 8800GTS owner, and yes, I am a legit Vista owner (not a Vista user for this very reason).
