wow ronin, you must be a pleasure to work with 😛

I have no tolerance for idiots, and Mega seems to be the epitome. How he got Lifer with the mind boggling way he expresses himself is beyond me. I could never do 10k posts of stuff like that.

Anyway, he's also full of sh!t, because the FTP download was up before the website download, and the one on the website worked perfectly fine (how do I know? Because the same driver has been on the dev site for some time now, and has been WHQL).

Now, if he wants to argue more, he'd be wise not to. Let's see how bright the lightbulb really is. 😉

I downloaded these from their official homepage, nice IQ and so far all is great with them, still early days yet so more game testing is needed by me,however thumbs up so far.

🙂

You may be able to bully the kids in here, but you don't impress nor intimidate me bubba. The NVidia website clearly notes that they updated the file later in the day with the WHQL certificate. 2PM PST on 3/17/2006 to be precise. It should be obvious to anyone with elementary reading skills what has happened. Why you feel the need to bicker with me about this is unknown to me, but I'm game if you are.

The drivers work really for me also, Quake 4 is running VERY well so far. But I haven't tried out my other games yet, I promised myself I was going to finish one game before I started another last time I did a reformat. 😱

Thanks for proving a couple points, Mega.

I'm not a bully, nor do I aim to intimidate. I just let people make themselves look stupid by validating what I say. You did an excellent job!

If you'd like to continue, we can dance some more. It's a good way to start the weekend. 😉

Oooh...a reputable (2 post user).

Dude, you screwed up. Live with it. You really shouldn't call people dense when you're the poster child, it would seem. 😉

Wow, these are good drivers! Both FEAR and COD2 run better (especially w/AA) with my 7800gt

They even seem to make my ATI HDTV wonder load faster and change channels quicker

(it didn't like the 81.98s)

The best thing so far is that I'm not seeing shimmering on the floors when I play Q4. Is shimmering a DX problem or can it be seen in OGL games also?

I would if I had FEAR. I've got to play through Q4, then Serious Sam 2, then X-Men Legends II, and play a month of BF2 before I buy any more new games.

But I will get and play FEAR sometime this year. 😛

Meh, I downloaded this driver last night and the first odd thing I noticed is that when I installed them and went forward to do a restart, some file all of a sudden popped up that was named "shoud not see me" and my windows xp was ending the application. Restarted fine and everything seemed fine. Played FEAR and COD2, no noticable difference from 84.20, frames still the same. Then started playing MOH:Spearhead online...yea yea old game, but I still love it online, hell CS is old...anyways, about an hour in, my video screen just hung up, couldnt do anything...so restart again and tried normal first player game and it crashed in the first level. Went back to 84.20 from Guru and everything better. Anybody else notice that ending application after installing this 84.21 driver????? Im assuming this caused me problems.

Sorry, but I didn't see anything at all like that. I'll play some HL2 and HL2 Lost Coast (don't tell my wife!) and maybe even fire up UT2K4 to see if I get any wierdness.

I'll post back after I've done so.

Ok, I just played 20 minutes of UT2K4 (biggest maps, lots of bots, AI on higher settings) and I have no problems to report.

Next, HL2 Lost Coast.

Well, I guess this driver works for some and not for others, as with all drivers. Im happy with the 84.20 though. I doubt the latest games would give any problems with 84.21, its the support for the older games that made me revert back. So maybe some of your older games wont work too well, that is if you play any older games...if not then IGNORE.

Try using Driver Cleaner in safe mode before installing the drivers might help.
