Forceware 84.21 WHQL available

Oddly enough, when I installed the new drivers, I still got the warning about installing non-WHQL drivers for my 7900GT. I guess they are certified for 7800 and older hardware.

Oh well, maybe the next release will fix me up.

okay, so these are just the 84.20s plus the WHQL cert, correct?

just a fwiw, StationDrivers has also leaked the 84.15WHQL, available for download at least at Guru3D and Tweaks-R-Us

The ONLY difference between the 84.20's and the 84.21's is the WHQL certification. So if you already have the 84.20's then thiers no need to get these. (like if you have the XG 84.20 driver)

Yeah, and even the WHQL cert. is of no use to me. 🙁 Oh well, no big. I like to have the latest OFFICIAL drivers installed anyways. Tweaked drivers hold no lustre for me.

From the list of cards supported:
(full list here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/IO_30454.html)
Products marked with an asterisk (*) are WHQL certified.

GeForce 6100
GeForce 6150 LE
GeForce 6150
GeForce 6200*
GeForce 6200 with TurboCache
GeForce 6200SE with TurboCache
GeForce 6500
GeForce 6600*
GeForce 6600 LE*
GeForce 6600 VE*
GeForce 6600 GT*
GeForce 6610 XL*
GeForce 6800*
GeForce 6800 LE*
GeForce 6800 XE*
GeForce 6800 XT*
GeForce 6800 GS*
GeForce 6800 GT*
GeForce 6800 Ultra*
GeForce 7300 LE*
GeForce 7300 GS*
GeForce 7600 GT*
GeForce 7800 GS*
GeForce 7800 GT*
GeForce 7800 GTX*
GeForce 7800 GTX 512*
GeForce 7900 GT*
GeForce 7900 GTX*

Looks like the 7900 cards should be fully supported in this release

Well, I can tell you with 100% certainty that installing these drivers on my 7900GT resulted in me being flagged to allow unsigned drivers to be installed. Obviously NVidia messed something up.

NV4_DISP.CAT is missing from the driver. There is no WHQL cert. in this driver set. NVidia borked it and didn't pack the CAT file with the rest of the files.

Which is EXACTLY why it's not on the website. You people need to get your panties out of a bunch..it's on the FTP, and only the FTP, not the official site.

If it were on nVIDIA.com and it said WHQL and you got the message, that'd be a different story. You'll live.

Funny thing I just noticed with my 84.20 driver.

Drop down the profile thing (active profile?) in the performance and quality settings, and look under the letter E. Oblivion is there 😛.
Just thought I'd point that out.

Yeah I would think that is true but the 84.12 and 84.20 drivers gave me crashes left and right but after I went back to the 81.98 drivers, smooth as a whistle . . .

Look here, don't come into this thread blustering like you know what you are talking about. :|

On the official website hours ago...

Another poster at NForcers says it's there now. I'm downloading the file now, we'll see.

Yup, it's there now folks. Redownload the file if you like the M$ tax, I know I do. 😛

Yeah, genius, AFTER the FTP info was posted. So, make sure you don't make yourself look stupid in a reply. That's why it wasn't on the website and only on the FTP.

Dude, get a grip. The file I downloaded to double check their error was from the HTTP link on their official driver download webpage. Give it up.
