im usin 81.94 right now,..its weird i checked nvidias site earlier today and it was still 81.94...awesome,....im gonna try these right now 😀

ok well just installed em and set em up and played a few things to test em out to see if there was anything that stands out as noticeable,...

right away on desktop,..i dunno what exactly is different,..but it seems different,..like slightly bolder color maybe i dunno, maybe a lil better 2d acceleration(or maybe its just me)

i noticed Elder scrolls4 Oblivion and STALKER(correct me if im wrong) are both in this driver indicating out of box SLi

the IQ in these are pretty close to 81.94 but seem a little better,..and the driver al around seems a little "snappier" in 2d and 3d than 81.94,..my guess is this driver is just more refined with added support and a WHQL certification slapped on it.what more could you ask for from a driver?(besides an additional 100fps in every game😛)

easily best one yet for 7800 / 7800 SLi imo

I read that the only difference is in the WHQL certification. In any case, the 81.94 drivers didn't do squat for my Q4 performance over the 81.85 or whatever was before that.

if that was the case it would be 81.94 WHQL just like 81.85 was,... from 81.85 beta to 81.85 WHQL,..so you can bet there were a few little additions

i seen i pretty a big jump in quake4 among other games when i went to 81.94,.especially with anti aliasing,...heres an article you can read with benchmarks showing 78.01 and 81.94,..you will notice also they used the "unpatched" version of fear,...not good for SLi because of that,..so id ignore the SLi benches on that game,....it looks like overall the 7800GTX SLi got the largest gains with AA enabled and at higher resolutions,..and both

it also seems these newer drivers are really taking advantage of dual core cpu's nicely

you can check it out HERE

OOps! Sry for previous...

I am running Media Center and am currently using the 77.79 MC specific driver for my 6800GT and feel like I am sacraficing the latest driver updates for my graphics card that keep comming out. i.e. the 81.95... What are the advantages/disadvantages of using the 77 one vs. this new one?

I installed these last night...couldn't really tell a difference over the 81.85's except that I also installed my Opteron 170 last night, so I saw activity on both cores while running some games - which was kinda cool. Couldn't quite tell how much of a performance boost I got, but running at such a high resolution (1680x1050) on a now somewhat mid-range card (6800GT@Ultra speeds) probably makes me more GPU-limited than anything.

Lol....just upgraded my PC and installed the previous version then these come out within 24 hours, anyway working fine for me.

I'm interested to see the improvement in the dual core CPUs. What would be the best way to test that? The CPU benchmark in 3DMark?

HaloPC uses about 70% on both cores on my X2 3800 with 81.85. Before 81.85 it'd use only one of the cores.

You just need to load up an older set of drivers (pre-8x.xx series) and then compare benchmarks to that of the new drivers.

I haivng been using these drivers for 2 weeks now. This is the First 80 Series driver that doesn't lock my machine randomly. Even after a fresh install of windows 81.85 would not work, so I tried these out since they were WHQLed and now since I got my GTX I have gone from 7700 in 3dmark05 to 8400 in incremental increases due to drivers. By the way I am running DC (4400+).

did you notice and nominal performance increases in games? My upcoming rig is definately gonna be dual cores.... x2 of course.

just a little bit. Fear is the ony game that doesn't show any activity on the second core with 81.85.
