What I'd like to see nVidia do--to really make SLI and the nForce4 chipset very worthwhile -- is to come up with a way for different GPUs to work in SLI, like a combination of a 6600 GT plus a 7800 GT, allowing people to both upgrade and to continue to use their older cards. Now that would roxxors.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they've already implemented it but just don't want to release it for economic reasons.

No it wouldn't. That would be bad. You actually want your 7800 GT to be held back by your 6600 GT? What a waste of money that would be.

Of course not. What I'd like to see would be for them to come up with a way so that it wouldn't hold you back but that you could still use its processing power.

No real performance difference over the latest official 7x drivers in Fear. Still has random missing textures in Guild Wars, where as the 7x series did not. Better than the 81.84's in that they don't stick my refresh rate at 75hz when at 1280x1024 :)

Whippersnapper, what you are suggesting about being able to use two different GPU's is reminding me of what ATI is hinting at, i.e., the possibility of using a second video card for something other than video rendering, such as game physics calculations.

Although I've not heard anything similiar from nvidia, I wouldn't expect that there would be any reason something similar couldn't be done by nvidia.
