saw a small drop/little change in my F.E.A.R MP Demo benchmark scores compared to the 81.84s.

I'm running a 2.1GHz tbred-b (167x12.5)/1 gig hynix cheapo RAM (single channel of course)/ASUS A7V8X mobo/SB Live! 24-bit/380w Truepower/Sparkle 6600GT (570/1.145) rig here.

I suggest the benchmark in the MP Demo, 1024x768, 0xAA/8xAF, all settings maximum, so computer and graphics card on maximum, then go into graphics card and turn soft shadows off, set 0xAA/8xAF, with 'high quality' set in the forceware 81.84 drivers.

18.33 FPS min
38 FPS avg
95 FPS max

below 25 fps - 21.33%
25-40 fps - 47%
above 40 fps - 31.66%

With the 81.85s, average of five runs.

19.2 FPS min
37 FPS avg
91.4 FPS max

below 25 fps - 20.4%
25-40 fps - 49.1%
above 40 fps - 30.2%

Downloaded them, unfortunetly these are even worse than 81.84 for me; because with 81.85 my 7800GTX has compleatly lost its ability to overclock unlike .84 where it would take awhile for it to start with the artifacts then having the card hiccup even after exiting the 3d app. Switched back to 78.xx, same as before the problem is compleatly gone.

Seriously, under 78.xx my card can run at 500/1.32 for hours without a glitch, when I use the lastest 81.85s it cant do 450/1.25 for a minute without freaking out. I think its probly because they have tweaked the memory controller. This is wierd~

FEAR performance exactly the same with my 7800 GT.

my 3dmark05 score went up a whopping 7 points.

this driver did fix the freezing in FEAR though (i think, it was in the release notes).

Installed last night. Stable in BF2 and DAoC, no major performance change that I could see, except that I noticed I was getting more a CPU temp spike when browsing some image thumbnails on my desktop. When I checked CPU utilization it seemed like the driver was making pretty heavy use of both cores for desktop image manipulation.
