ForceWare 56.55 Available

in what folder is the "Benchmark" button in Unreal 2004 Demo, I cant seem to find it and I feel really stupid about this. I know there was a "benchmark" button in 2003 and I am trying to find something similar but I dont know where it is I searched everything.

Look in the UT2K4 thread, there's a bunch of .bat files you need to download.

Trilinear filtering forced on, no AA\AF BFG 5900nu at 450\900:
3DMark 2001: 13,975 (about 14,500 before)

UT2003 doesn't look good... first botmatch crashed, others are very slow at the beginning, but normalize towards the end.
EDIT: the UT2003 benches are taking forever, I'll update whenever I wake up. The bottom line so far is better IQ (from what I can see) but slightly slower than the 53.03s.

EDIT: Gainward ftp link is broken...

It is the correct link. The server has either been overwhelmed by traffic or Gainward has removed the directory.

i'm gonna wait until the official drivers are released. 1/29/2004 is pretty old considering today is the 15th of february. 😉

guru3d is hosting them now...downloaded em and trying them out...thus far, performance seems to be pretty much the same - of course, I'm running a GeForce 4 Ti so I wasn't expecting any performance gains. So far, in UT2k4 demo, seems like 53.03 was slightly smoother, but that coulda been lag...hard to tell. Still evaluating.

I will say these drivers seem to crisp up 2d graphics though - my desktop looks nice 🙂

My desktop actually seems a bit fuzzy, but that coulf be a by-product of staring at an LCD for the past couple of days.

Performance seems to be about the same if I don't force on trilinear filtering, so there's proof that it works 😛. I'd say it's mainly about a redesigned control panel for this release.

Something about 53.03 seemed a bit smoother in the games I'm playing right now (BF1942, UT2004, and Clive Barker's Undying for the moment) so I downgraded. 56.55 seems very capable though. I might move up in the future.

I tried this link and it froze up Mozilla AND IE

change the ftp://ftp.gainward.se part to ftp://ftp.gainward.de (Gainward is from Germany) and the link will work, BUT, you need a password and login

linkified to correct address
Gainward ftp

maybe all you guys that had problems just installed the new drivers over the old ones, instead of going to the completely uninstall/install route 😉

What problems were you having in CoD?

disappearing sandbags and other artifacts, also, does appear to work better in DC, i have not seen ANY artifacts in ANY game with these drivers and have noticed NO decrease in performance

I was having artifacts and bad lighting and disappearing sandbags. The new driver cleared it up, but the driver fixed at the loss of some performance.

I have a simmilar problem with CoD where some items are missing, but momentarily appear when you fire your gun. It normaly only lasts the first spawn and then it is fine. Is this what you are refering to?
