SLI doesn't work with this driver.

Good all round performance boost, Call of Juarez runs much smoother, shadow issue reportedly fixed, STALKER performance has been boosted also.

You can also get it here.
Comes with modded inf and the file name fix.

From what I've read here the driver seems to act like the 100.95's. Good for 8800 users and just ok for everyone else.

People with non-8800 cards are basing it off of 100.95/101.02 vs. 94.20. It was hard to beat the 94.20s but 8800 users couldn't use the 94.20s.

Can anyone confirm that internal videocard resolution scaling is fixed with this driver?

Newb question - how do you force classic control panel with 100.xx or even 97.xx drivers? I tried googling and for some reason I can't find the answer.

Thanks

I'm wondering the same thing, just got my 8800 GTS and have no idea how to force the old control panel. This new .Net one sucks.

got this from another forum a while ago (dont remember which one):

works on 97.92 drivers...

Run regedit and go to here;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies

Create the following DWord - SedonaDisable

And set it's value to 2

Now save and close REGEDIT

Also coolbits works also!

Like I said I've forgotten who posted this but a big thanks to him.

enables classic control panel and coolbits...

alternate method

Open NotePad then copy and paste the following into a text document and then save it with
a "NV Classic CP.reg" file extention. Use the quotes when you save or Notepad will add a
.txt extension onto the file which you do not want.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

; NVIDIA Windows 2000/XP Display Coolbits file
; Copyright (c) NVIDIA Corporation. All rights reserved.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies]
"SedonaDisable"=dword:00000001
"ContextUIPolicy"=dword:00000001
"TaskbarUIPolicy"=dword:00000001
"CplGroupUIPolicy"=dword:00000001

After saving right click the NV Classic CP.reg file you created to merge it into the registry and
bingo you have the good old Classic (and useable) CP back.

i dont know how to get it working on the 100.xx drivers though...

How much of an increase do these give?

And when is it that SLi is going to work again?

I don't think any of nVidia's control panels use .NET.

Hmm I thought I remember reading that this new one uses .Net. Shrug, maybe I'm wrong who knows who cares.

Anyway, was playing DCon (desert combat remake for BF2) earlier today and it runs awesome with the 8800 GTS. I noticed that this particular mod ran like crap with the X1900 (I'm guessing ATi drivers have an issue with it) but it was smooth as silk with the 8800. Made a short FRAPs vid of it: Vid
The video was purposely limited to 50 fps by me in FRAPs so don't pay much attention to the fps counter in the vid.

you could try the tweaksrus version of these drivers, which were modded to support most cards, but frankly, I don't know that you would see much benefit, given these drivers are intended for g8x only.

You could also tryFW93.81 or FW94.20 - these are both non g80 drivers.

Personally I'm still on the trusty old FW92.91 driver set and I see no reason at all to move from it so far with my setup.

Did you try the 100.95 release? I'm wondering if they are any better than the 100.87s...

I tried these and wounded up going back to the current reference drivers. Although stable, I got graphical anomalies with STALKER with all settings at MAX.

What kind? I had some graphical glitches with my 8800GTS the other day with settings @ max also...I was afraid it might be my card but it could certainly be a driver issue also.

Most people find these to be excellent STALKER drivers. I'd make sure your rig doesn't have unresolved issues elsewhere.
