Too little, too late.

The next big Star Wars game launching on the PCs is going to be Bioware's The Old Republic MMO.

Yeah but some folks don't want to come within 20 feet of an MMO... this could be a little more up their alley.

At least somebody gets it about MMOs.

Anyway, thanks Lucas Arts for porting to the PC a 2 year old console game that got lousy reviews in the first place. I have to admit that it did look kind of fun though, in a shallow over the top sort of way. I might buy it if the price comes down to the 30.00 range.

And thanks again Lucas Arts (and Bioware and EA) for deserting the KOTOR single player franchise and turning it into an MMO. Guess the possible $$$$$ was just too much to pass up.

LOL, Force Unleashed... The game feels like The Force does mundane things like push people around, considering most of the force power can't do anything (even to those generic enemy spawns), this game was overall pretty badly designed.

Exactly. I'm still waiting for something to take care of the open-ended finish to Jedi Academy!

To be honest, I have been considering this game for the 360 for the last couple weeks. I saw a used copy at GS for like $15. I dl'ed the demo when it was available last year on the 360 and I played that level a couple times, it was a lot of fun. I don't think this title was intended to be as story-intense, storytelling as many of the SW titles in the past. This was probably more an effort to test an idea someone at Lucasarts thought up about having a game where people could just use the basic (dark) force powers and a lightsaber and just run around killing everything that moves. At least that's what I get from playing the 360 demo.

just my $.02

and when it doesn't sell well they'll blame it on piracy instead of the fact that 90% of people who might buy such a game already own it and 90% of the 10% left won't buy crappy console ports.

Interesting - didn't they say it would never be released for the PC?

That was still when they treated the game like the new messiah...how that everyone has seen it's pretty much "meh" they will port it everywhere they can to make a buck...

Anyone pick this up for PC yet? Wanting to know how well it plays...
Gamespot review says it's an atrocious, shitty shitty shitty console port. Like straight up they didn't even bother changing anything port. Performance is terrible, no mouse control in the menu's, etc. There is a patch that is supposed to fix a lot of the performance issues, and add gamepad support, but don't know much other than that.

I swear, if I see just one wookie fall off that damn bridge on PC I'll never buy another LucisArt game.

OK, it would appear to be a half-assed port which is what we all expected.
Fuck Lucas Arts. They gave us a shitty KOTOR 2, killed of the Jedi Knight line, the TIE Fighter line, and stopped making cool adventure games back in the DOS days.

I officially no longer give a damn about them.

I bought the game off of Amazon a little while ago and should receive it soon. It doesn't seem like a bad game. I'll probably enjoy it.

plug in a xbox360 controller and then its simply a port of the console game, which i enjoyed a lot, though it alternated between awesomeness and occasionally frustrating. It's what, $35 on the pc? if you didn't play the console version and want a cool SW game, go for it.

Holy crow - 15gb install?

Eh - a friend [who is a Star Wars fanatic] thought it was fun on the PS3. If I can find it in the cheap bastard section - I'll pick this one up.

Gah, I just noticed this and never made fun of the OP for it.

What the fuck is a forced unleashed? Is it anything like that star wars game, The Force Unleashed?

I played it on the 360, and am just curious as to what you're talking about.

One of the first levels, lots of wooden bridges that "ripple". Wookies where jumping off like lemmings left right and center. And this was on the 360 version.

Never really noticed any of that. I was too busy pushing them off myself to notice anything off about it all.

I actually enjoyed the game on PC!

Besides it being a shoddy console port, and the occasional lag, and the occasional crash to desktop (which honestly happened like 3 times throughout the entire game, including the expansions) the game was actually a blast and I never had a problem with it.

Like I said though, its a straight console copy with the only PC features being the ability to adjust screen resolution...thats it...and no I'm not kidding...

Other than these downfalls it is a very good game and the graphics and physics and gameplay are top notch in my opinion.
